Engaging Employees to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand

Public Relations Professionals of Long Island Presents Event Showing how the Power of Social Media can Grow Brands on Long Island and Beyond

Hicksville, NY (September 2015) – The Public Relations Professionals of Long Island (PRPLI) presents “Engaging Employees to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand.” This event will teach individuals that through their social influence, employees can positively impact organizations, drive traffic to company profiles and websites and help build brands. This program will discuss best practices and the tips, tricks and tools to overcome the challenge of getting employees active on social media.

“Social media should not be an afterthought, but rather an integral part of building brands,” said PRPLI President Kali Chan. “Employees are the best representatives to build the brands of businesses across Long Island and beyond.”

This PRPLI program will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Davenport Press, in Mineola, New York. This event will feature speakers: Kevin Vermeulen, the Co-Managing Partner of Good2bSocial; Theresa Jacobellis, Assistant Vice President, marketing at the Catholic Health Services of Long Island and the Assistant Vice President, public affairs and marketing at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center; and Cassie Rowan, Interactive Media and Marketing Manager at the Girl Scouts of Nassau County.

Panelists will discuss the organizational benefits when employees start sharing, liking and tweeting; suggestions to help employees build their own social media profiles; training techniques to encourage employees to start supporting their brand’s social presence; social media policies; metrics; and more. “Engaging Employees to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand” is $50 for PRPLI members, $65 for non-members, $40 for members “in transition,” and $25 for students.

“We know this event will teach individuals about the power of social media, and all it can do to engage audiences and grow a brand,” added Kali Chan.
