Hello PRPLI,
It is my pleasure to formally greet you for the first time in our new PRPLI year and it will be a unique year for our organization.
Due to the pandemic and the general disruption of our lives, the past six months have been a challenging time for everyone and PRPLI is no exception. Many of our events had to be rescheduled, canceled, or they took on a new virtual format. I am grateful to our outgoing 2019-20 and incoming and current 2020-21 board members for their adaptability and innovativeness during this time.
Even amid a pandemic, as a board, we are committed to providing our members and colleagues with engaging programming and networking opportunities.
Thank you to Bill Corbett Jr. for hosting an insightful virtual discussion, exploring the major changes our industry has faced in the wake of the pandemic earlier this month. Our popular Meet & Pitch the Media event has been re-imagined as a virtual event to be held in October. The November program will feature a renown and respected keynote communications speaker and will be a first for PRPLI.
At our summer planning meeting we normally map out the entire year. This summer we planned through November, knowing flexibility will be key. Stay tuned for our holiday plans and 2021 programs.
One constant for the year is the celebration of PRPLI’s 30th anniversary. We’ll visit with past Presidents as they share their memorable PRPLI moments and lessons learned. We’ll look back at old pictures and explore how our industry has changed. A huge thank you to Louise Cassano for keeping such impeccable records of PRPLI’s history.
I hope you will join or renew your PRPLI membership to share experiences and learn with your fellow public relations professionals.
All my best,
Rachael Risinger
