SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND ANNUAL AWARDS EVENT

Each year, PRPLI awards up to two $2,000 scholarships and a free membership to two college juniors or seniors who attend school or reside on Long Island. In addition, notable professionals in public relations and journalism are recognized through our prestigious awards program. The award and scholarship winners are celebrated at our awards gala, held in May of each year. Read More…

In Celebration of Women’s History Month

My idea was to write about the first ladies who had some connection to needlework at one point in their lives. Edith Roosevelt, for example, needlepointed a sampler of all the important moments in her husband’s life, including Sagamore Hill and the White House, which she renovated in 1901 to accommodate her large family. She turned it into a showcase for the country. Then President Theodore Roosevelt officially named the Executive Mansion the “White House.”
